Our Staff

David McMillan

David McMillan was born into a missionary family serving in Congo, Africa, David spent furloughs in Canada (from his father's side) and Michigan (from his mother's side.) After graduating from boarding school in Kenya he attended Moody Bible Institute where he met Rebecca Williams. He continued his studies at the University of Illinois. They were married in 1974 and looked forward to a carreer in foreign missions. With their first two children they went to France and served in two cities helping to grow and develop churches. In 1981 they came back to Illinois to settle near Rebecca's family. David found work as best he could and eventually settled into his own home-repair business. In 2002 Marshall Williams invited him to take his place at the Bible Witness Camp shortly before he passed away. He joined the staff as Pastor/Director and has been adjusting and learning in this ministry of bringing Jesus to the children and families of the community.

Karen Williams

Karen Williams is a graduate from Moody Bible Institute where she majored in Christian Education and met her husband Mark. She has demonstrated her love for children as: a mother of six children, a former elementary teacher at Kankakee Trinity Academy and by serving at BWC as a Sunday school teacher and an AWANA leader. Karen continues to help where and when needed in the BWC ministry. She enjoys serving as a pianist and praying for and encouraging others in their walk of faith. She loves being a homemaker, grandmother and a neighbor to her parents.

Mark Williams

Mark Williams grew up at the Bible Witness Camp as Mary's twin brother and youngest child of six children. Known as the "little brat" to most of the older campers, he always wanted to be around and involved in all the camp activities. Mark majored in Christian Education at Moody Bible Institute where he met his wife Karen. Together, they have six children. Mark is the boy's camp director and boy's AWANA commander, Sunday school teacher, and van driver. He plans a lot of the camp crafts. He also heads up Primary Church on Sundays and assists with maintenance of the campgrounds. Mark serves as the treasurer for Bible Witness Camp.

Mary Williams

Mary Williams grew up at Bible Witness Camp. She is the twin sister to Mark. A former camper said that Mary "was always underfoot." Growing up, Mary was involved in every camp activity -- watching, helping, and learning the ropes. Mary attended Wheaton College (BA in Elementary Education), and Institute of Children's Literature (diploma in Writing for Children and Teenagers.) Mary is the girls' camp director and girl's AWANA commander, Sunday school teacher, and van driver. Mary is responsible for scheduling girl's camps, organizing, planning, writing curriculum for summer camps; teaching and counseling children and young people; and helping to train volunteers to work with children in a Biblical and positive setting.

Rebecca McMillan

Rebecca McMillan moved to Bible Witness Camp twice in her life. The first time (1955) she was in first grade. The second time (2002) she was a wife, mother, and grandmother. Born in Paxton, Illinois-the third child of Marshall and Lizetta Williams-she lived there briefly and then in Wayland, Michigan before making the move with her family to BWC. After graduation from high school, she received a diploma from Moody Bible Institute as a Communications (Writing) major and then a BA in English from Northern Illinois University. She met David McMillan while they were both students at Moody. They were married in 1974. The McMillans served as missionaries in France for four years with Unevangelized Fields Mission (now Crossworld). Momence, Illinois became home in 1981 where she and David raised their six children and were active members of the First Baptist Church there. Currently serving on staff at Bible Witness Camp, she helps out with Awana clubs, Sunday School, camp kitchen, newsletter, and wherever needed. Substitute teaching at our local school gives her good contact with members of the community. David and Rebecca have been licensed foster parents since 2013.
